The Beauty of Autumn in Kyoto, Japan

Hi Everyone,

This is Yuki, co-founder of Koto.
I thought to share a few photos of Kyoto that I took. They're just quick snaps taken with my phone, but I think you'll still be able to get an idea of how beautiful things look.

We're based in a quiet residential area north of Kyoto, Japan's ancient capital, known for its astounding beauty during autumn.

The other day, intending to see the autumn colors, I visited Korin-in Temple, which is located near my old high school.
I used to pass it every day when I was a student, but this was the first time actually I went into the compound.

It is one of the city's many Zen temples. Inside its grounds, there are gardens created in different styles.

Side Note: Access to the various gardens varies depending on the season. Hence, if you intend to visit, you may want to confirm if they are open before you go!
The foliage season was about to end, but I still managed to see the autumn leaves in a very well-kept garden.

As I contemplate the garden, I feel like I've been sitting here for an indefinite time. The body and mind relax...

I cannot show you the interior because taking pictures is not allowed. Inside, they have furniture that is considered a national treasure.

It is imprinted with gorgeous wabi-sabi designs. In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi teaches the acceptance of beauty that is imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete in nature.

Also, they have a room for the traditional Japanese tea ceremony.
I couldn't resist taking a snap in the garden with a few of our bracelets! They are made from real kimono fabric and provide a way for you to take some of Kyoto's beauty with you in your daily life.

Travel is challenging nowadays, but I sincerely hope all of you will one day have the opportunity to take a quiet walk through Kyoto's temples during autumn and enjoy the gorgeous colors.
