First Snowfall in Kyoto for Winter 2020/2021

When I opened the window this morning, I noticed that some light snow had fallen. Meanwhile, my friend had stepped out for a walk.

He sent me a picture of Kyoto's iconic Kiyomizu Temple. In the weeks to come, it will be exquisitely covered in a layer of snow, but not yet.

Some white snow had accumulated on the autumn leaves that still remained and turned pink. It is a beautiful sight that can only be seen at this time of year.

The iconic hilly streets, Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka, were already in winter mode with a light layer of snow on the roof tiles.

Looking back at the photos we took here in August, the scene is barely recognizable.

Before the snow melted, I tried to take a few winter-themed photos of our products in a garden. They matched beautifully with the snowy landscape.

If you don't mind cold weather, do consider visiting us in Kyoto. It's a special time of year, and the city's winter scenes are quite charming—especially in the early morning! ♪
