A traditional printing technique in Japan

Hello everyone, this is KOTO Kyoto.

We went to the dye works for a meeting in Kyoto.
(we always do business with them.)

We will introduce to them this time.

This year they celebrate the 108th anniversary of dye works opening.
This works was built 100 years ago and a traditional building.

At this dye works, all items are dyed by hand. They dye like stroking by bamboo pallet using this frame on boarded fabric. This frame  need one by one frame for each color to be dyed. And they dye carefully layer one color at a time and dye it repeatedly many times.

Our fabrics of furoshiki are carefully hand-made one by one like this and delivered to you.

It should be a special one for you!
